CC’s – Magazine @ Jefferson – Uptown, New Orleans

Last week Creole collaborated with a group of established thought leaders and local entrepreneurs to publish a letter (Declaration of Innovation) to President Obama in the New Orleans Times Picayune.
The Declaration of Innovation describes the story of how entrepreneurs are joining together to rebuild New Orleans. We wanted our letter to be a call to action for businesses, politicians, and citizens to work together to make New Orleans stronger than ever before through innovation, community, partnership, and speaking with a common voice.

The Declaration of Innovation of promotes the new change makers who are following in the footsteps of our New Orleans fore fathers who have reinvented this city so many times before. We share the passion of our entrepreneurs who are working to recreate New Orleans better than before the storm because they love the diversity, culture, and everything that makes New Orleans unique.

We felt the visit from President Obama offered an opportunity for us to promote our entrepreneurs and the new type of business taking place in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina. The Declaration of Innovation also provided an opportunity for us to reinforce to the president’s administration the requirement to do coastal restoration and rebuild levees to Category 5 specification to ensure businesses will move back to New Orleans and the business here will continue to grow.

We at Creole are extremely proud of our new class of entrepreneurs and the established business building a foundation for new ventures by providing tin-kind services, business networks, promotion, office space, and critiques of product offerings. New Orleans community-based innovation and focus on organic growth clearly aligns to the values of Creole and our mission to reinvent business for the 21st century. We feel strongly New Orleans new business environment will be the blue print for the new economy and we hope our new administration will continue to reinvest in our city and follow through on their commitment to address our levels and coastal restoration.
